I’m an award-winning Australian author, mum of three and lifelong storyteller.

For more than 20 years, I’ve built my career in commercial television and communications — a fast-paced, creative world centred around people, ideas and connecting with audiences. It’s a career I still love and one that sits naturally alongside my life as an author.

I began my writing journey creating colourful, heart-filled picture books for children. Those stories went on to inspire Patroosh.com.au, my online store born from the world of my picture books and a love of creating fun experiences for kids beyond the page.

Since then, storytelling has taken me in all sorts of directions. I speak at writers’ festivals, visit schools and early learning centres, and love connecting with readers and aspiring writers about books, creativity and the writing journey.

I’m also the founder of MysteryLane Media, my own video production business, bringing together my experience in television, communications and visual storytelling.

And while children’s books were where my publishing journey began, I’ve never been very good at staying in one lane.

Today, I write across children’s, junior, young adult and adult fiction. I love moving between worlds — from funny, imaginative adventures for little readers to emotional, atmospheric and page-turning stories for older audiences.

The genre might change, but what I’m looking for in a story doesn’t: characters you care about, genuine emotion and that wonderful feeling of being completely swept away.

When I’m not writing or working, life is wonderfully busy. I’m a wife, mum of three and devoted animal lover who loves travelling, the beach, good food, catching up with friends and spending time with my family.

And somewhere amongst all of that, there’s usually another story forming in my head.

Whether it’s through a book, a screen or a room full of readers, storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do.
